Partners for International Business

About

Doing business abroad can have its pitfalls. You may encounter trade barriers, a lack of knowledge among local government bodies and businesses or restrictive local laws. Joining forces with other businesses and the Dutch government puts you in a better position. The Partners for International Business (PIB) program allows Dutch businesses in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom to enter into a public-private partnership with the Dutch government in order to realize international ambitions.

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has access to a global network of embassies, consulates and Netherlands Business Support Offices. Together with clusters of Dutch businesses and knowledge institutions, the Dutch government is developing a tailor-made, multi-year program. This progam will comprise strategic activities to provide the best possible platform abroad for a Dutch industry or sub-industry and its specific clusters.

PIB-modules

All activities within the program fall within the scope of 3 modules:

  1. Promotion and matchmaking through Netherlands Branding, trade mission & fairs and seminars & workshops.

  2. The Knowledge Exchange and Networks module, in which activities are developed in Government-to-Government (G2G), Knowledge-to-Knowledge (K2K) and Netherlands Management Training Program (NMTP).

  3. The Economic diplomacy module, which covers activities aimed at market organization, market access and solving specific issues for the business cluster. These activities are carried out by the Dutch representation in the country at hand, and the relevant ministries.
