Ventolines further expands in the US with the establishment of Ventolines U.S., Incorporated – Mark W. Coplen appointed President Ventolines U.S.
BOSTON – Ventolines, successful Netherlands based advisory and renewable energy development forerunner announces today the establishment of Ventolines U.S., Inc. Mark W. Coplen is appointed as President.
Ventolines has been present in the U.S. offshore wind sector since 2016. Our team has been supporting developers and owners including Deepwater Wind and Mayflower Wind. “We started with our first U.S. staff and a local office in 2020. Setting up a local legal entity Ventolines U.S., Inc. is the next step. With Mark on board, we are prepared for further growth on our vision that renewable energy solutions offer opportunities for everyone.” said Anne de Groot, founder of Ventolines.
Mark W. Coplen was trained at the renowned United States Military Academy at West Point and obtained an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been deployed in leadership positions in peacetime and combat conditions with the U.S. Army and retired at the rank of Colonel.
He left the military to pursue a civilian career and has served in several executive positions in technical and renewable energy companies. In his last position Mark was Vice president of Sales and Operations at AdBm Technologies.

Ventolines was founded in 2007 by siblings Anne and Jelma de Groot, building on their previous experience on wind projects. The company has been involved in renewable energy projects with more than 2000 MW of installed power in the Netherlands. This includes the country’s largest onshore wind farm, Windplan Groen, at 500 MW. Ventolines is also developing the world’s largest offshore wind farm in a lake, Windpark Fryslân, at 383 MW, with 89 turbines under construction. In addition, Ventolines is involved in the development of several solar farms, accounting for more than 350 MW, and multiple storage projects.
