On September 7th the covenant for the PIB Offshore Wind Ireland was signed at the HSM Offshore headquarters in Schiedam. This PIB project was created within the framework of the Partners for International Business (PIB) program of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The aim of the program is to support clusters of companies in priority sectors in their entry into international markets.

This PIB is coordinated by Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) in collaboration with the Dutch Embassy in Dublin and RVO. The cluster of companies and knowledge institutions consists of: GustoMSC|NOV, HSM Offshore, Lobster Robotics, Mammoet, Monobase Wind, N-Sea, Royal BAM Group, TNO Wind Energy, TU Delft and Van Oord

Prior to the development of this PIB, the Embassy, HHWE and RVO carried out various activities to map the offshore wind market in Ireland. In addition to market studies, 2 trade missions were also organized with matchmaking sessions between Irish and Dutch companies.

The Irish government has the ambition to install 7.5 GW of offshore wind before 2030. In the longer term, the Irish government also wants to utilize the enormous floating wind potential on the west coast. With green hydrogen as an energy carrier, Ireland can eventually become a major exporter of sustainable energy. Port development and system integration are important themes.

All this offers great opportunities for Dutch companies and knowledge institutes in the offshore wind sector.
